Week 1 Individual Work
Abraham Maslow defined his theory of the pecking order of need as a gain with five take aims. The hind end 4 take aims he considered physiological, while the give level would be psychological need. The lowest level moves to the higher level, and they begin. The first level represents the physical level and it encompasses air, water, food, sleep, sex, homeostatic and excretion. The second level represents condom of home, employment, resources, family, morality and health. The third represents love/belonging, and encompasses friendship, family and sexual intimacy. The fourth represents remember or confidence, self-esteem, accomplishment, respect for self and others. The fifth, again the psychological, represents the highest need, but nevertheless can be achieved after the others (deficient needs) are met. The fifth is called self-actualization, and consists of morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving and lack of prejudice.
There is a 6th level which is non on the pyramid as it is not considered a need, but a evidence of mind. When one has become self-actualized, this state of world is where one can perceive reality in effect and be comfortable with it. He understands him/herself and the world around him, and has the scholarship to know the difference where change is concerned.
Getting to the top is not a sure thing for life. If any of the deficiency needs suddenly are not met, due to disaster, war, etc. the pyramid regresses, and one cannot get to the next level without that need being satisfied.
Maslow studied people he believed to be self-actualized...Abraham Lincoln, for example. These are the characteristics he believed to be associated with all he found to have reached the top of the pyramid:
Maslow writes the following of self-actualizing people:
--They embrace the facts and realities of the world (including themselves) sooner than denying or avoiding them.
--They are spontaneous in their ideas and actions.
--They are creative....If you indispensableness to get a full essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
